These terms govern your use of tomphillips.uk and the training platform at tomphillips.uk/training (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Tom Phillips, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. By using the Service or buying a course, you agree to these terms.
§01The Service
The Service includes a portfolio website, interactive demos, and a paid training platform offering on-demand video courses, downloadable materials, and completion certificates. Course content covers applied AI, governance, and software engineering topics. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis — see §10.
§02Accounts
- You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy a course.
- You must provide accurate registration details — name, email, and (where applicable) billing information.
- You're responsible for keeping your password secret. Tell us promptly if you suspect someone else is using your account.
- One account per person. You may not share account credentials.
§03Your licence to use course content
When you enrol on a course, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access the course content for your own learning, for the lifetime of the platform.
You may not:
- Share, sublicense, resell, sublet, or redistribute course content (videos, transcripts, downloadable files) to third parties.
- Record, screen-capture, scrape, or systematically download course videos.
- Use course materials to train machine-learning models.
- Remove copyright notices or modify the materials.
- Use the materials in any way that competes with the Service.
Course materials remain Tom Phillips's intellectual property. Suspected abuse may lead to suspension or termination of access without refund.
§04Payments and pricing
- Course and bundle prices are shown in GBP on the catalogue and detail pages. Local currency conversion may be offered at checkout via Stripe.
- Where applicable, VAT or other consumption taxes are calculated and added at checkout via Stripe Tax.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Card data never touches our servers.
- Access to a paid course is granted on successful payment.
§05Refunds
A 14-day refund window applies to all course and bundle purchases. See the Refund Policy for full details, eligibility, and request channels.
§06Content updates and availability
We may add, remove, replace, or update course content. We don't guarantee any specific course will remain available indefinitely. Where a course is materially altered or withdrawn within 30 days of your purchase, you may request a refund regardless of the standard window.
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted access. Brief planned downtime may occur for maintenance.
§07Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to interfere with the Service, attack it, or probe it for vulnerabilities. Responsible disclosure to tom@tomphillips.uk is welcome and won't lead to legal action.
- Don't impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity.
- Don't use the Service for anything unlawful.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms.
§08Termination
You may close your account at any time from your profile page. On account closure, all your data is deleted (see the Privacy Policy for retention details). Closing your account does not automatically refund any purchases — refunds remain governed by §05.
We may suspend or terminate your access for material breach of these terms, fraud, or chargeback abuse. Where reasonable and proportionate, we'll attempt to contact you first.
§09Educational content disclaimer
Training courses provide general professional education. They are not regulated legal, financial, medical, or compliance advice. Course examples are illustrative — apply them to your own situation with appropriate professional review. Tom Phillips is not liable for decisions you make based on course content.
§10Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by UK law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 statutory rights.
§11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage or notified by email if you have an account. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
§12Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard exclusively by the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers ordinarily resident in another EU/EEA jurisdiction retain the right to bring proceedings in their local courts.
§13Contact
For questions about these terms, email tom@tomphillips.uk. For privacy questions specifically, see the Privacy Policy.
